AMTA REgionals San Diego 2026
Once again, the Anteaters were back in San Diego. But this time, the stakes were much higher: they were eyeing two bids to ORCS. Many valiant teams stood in their way, but the team’s resolve was made of steel. UC Irvine was making it out of regionals this year. And MAKE IT OUT THEY DID! Not only did team Donkey Kong go undefeated and secure a bid, but team Galaga took home a second bid, ensuring that UCI sends the maximum number of teams possible on to ORCS. Congratulations to our all-regional competitors: Michael Machhor, Gaya Viswanath, Khushi Patel, and Brian Maggliacio! The teams will spend the next three weeks devoted to making it out of ORCS. In the eternal words of Michael Machhor, “the job has not been finished”.

AtypiCAL 2026
Team Donkey Kong made the long and lonely journey up to UC Berkeley to test their mettle in a highly competitive weekend in trials. In the end, one thing was clear: UC Irvine mock triallers are anything but typical. Donkey Kong killed with kindness, earning SPAMTA. That kindness didn’t stop them from snatching up ballots left and right though, and they also took home 4th place. Congratulations to Brian Maggliacio for his 19-rank witness award, and all of our thanks to the Golden Bears for a wonderful weekend! Time to gear up for regionals.

Attorneys: Cora Reyes-Castelloe, Rosie Kline, Zoe Sizemore, Benny Tsabba, Gaya Viswanath, Neha Mahesh, Katelyn Eugenio, Gordon Can, and Hunter King. A big thank you to Cal Poly SLO for hosting the best tournament in the Wild West! In the end, the only thing that could outdraw UCI…was UCI.

UCLASSIC 2026
You know what they say… you can’t beat the classics. Or the UC Irvine Anteaters. It may have been their second tournament weekend in a row, but the team didn’t ease off the gas pedal for a single round. Team Donkey Kong took first place, and teams Galaga and Tetris were on their heels, winning third and fourth place respectively. Huge congratulations to Khushi Patel, Cora Reyes-Castelloe, and Gordon Can for their individual witness awards! UCLA mock trial never fails to host a gripping tournament, and we thank them for their hard work.

Mocktopia 2025
While their fellow UCI teams took on their opponents to the south, teams Street Fighters and Ms. Pacman journeyed north to Santa Barbara. The two teams crashed upon their competition like a tsunami. When the floodwater cleared, Ms. Pacman had taken a sixth place finish and the Street Fighters had taken every single ballot with them for an undefeated second place finish. Michael Machhor, Khushi Patel, and Anika Saraf also took home individual awards! The Anteaters are grateful to the Gauchos for another great year in Mocktopia!

Congratulations to our individual awardees: Stephanie Stahovich, Alexa Evrigenis, and Liam Drobish. Thank you so much to the UCSD team for putting together a fantastic tournament!
