Mock Trial is a competitive speaking activity where we simulate a real trial. Mock Trial at UCI is highly successful, ranking top fifteen nationwide. It’s a perfect opportunity to learn about the legal field, network with lawyers, judges, and law professors, and learn argumentative skills to take you to victory!

The four steps you can take to learn how to join our nationally ranked team are listed below!
How To Join
Step 1: Fill out our interest form
Fill out our interest form and you’ll get all the up-to-date information on everything related to mock trial recruitment. It's a great way to get notified of upcoming recruitment dates as soon as they are announced!
Step 2: Stop by one of our booths
We’ll be at Aldrich Park during the Anteater Involvement Fair during week 0, fall 2025, and we’ll be boothing during AIF on 9/22 and on Ring Road from 9/23 to 9/26 in front of Aldrich Hall from 11am to 4pm. Come meet the team and ask any questions you might have!
Step 3: Attend A Mandatory Info Session
While Steps 1-2 are technically optional, these next two steps are mandatory if you want to be a part of Mock Trial at UCI. At one of our Info Sessions, you'll be able to watch sample speeches and direct examinations, ask questions, and sign up for your own audition!
We’ll have 3 info sessions from 6pm to 7pm in the following Student Center Rooms:

Step 4: Audition
Auditions will be held starting October 2nd, 2025, in the Student Center. You will be required to give two short speeches. No prior mock trial or public speaking experience is required to have a successful audition! Attendance of an info session is MANDATORY to audition.
