Opening statement competition 2026

Are you a charismatic public speaker? Did people tell you that you would make a good lawyer when you were older? This is the opportunity to prove them right. UCI mock trial is hosting an opening statement competition open to all UCI students. Competitors of all backgrounds and interests are welcome! Come learn what an opening statement is, what makes an opening powerful, and sign up to try your hand at delivering an opening of your own. You’ll get feedback from experienced judges, and a lucky winner will even get a prize. Keep your eye peeled for more information in the early weeks of spring quarter!
